Place of creation
Date
1890

Thanks to Maria Feodorovna, who especially appreciated the objects made by Fabergé, many of his creations ended up in the royal and Imperial houses of Europe. Her brothers and sisters were tied by marriage to the ruling houses of many countries, and it was due to these connections that the gifts made by Fabergé came into the hands of kings and queens.⠀

Maria Feodorovna gave her brother Valdemar a clock with shutters. The shutters had portraits of his children, Erik and Viggo. These portraits help to date the clock, since the princes were born, respectively, in 1890 and 1893. Along with the dating of the hallmarks we get the interval 1893-98. The portraits are signed by Johannes Zehngraf and the jewelry work came from the workshop of Viktor Aarne
