This set of six charki, or drinking vessels, in the form of glasses with frame handles was made by Mikhail Perkhin. The glasses were cut out of rock crystal, and the gold frames are covered in a drawing rendered in champlevé enamel. Carl Fabergé loved incorporating antique medals and coins in items made by his firm. In this particular instance, the handles were made to look like gold ruble coins covered in red enamel from the reign of Empress Elizaveta Petrovna.
