The Buffet Room of Shuvalov Palace holds the artwork Summer in Gurzuf, a self-portrait of Konstantin Korovin, the most famous Russian Impressionist.
The artist had a country house in Gurzuf, a resort town on the southern coast of Crimea, and it was there that he painted his best works. Korovin’s works stand out first and foremost due to his large, broad strokes and rich, clean palette. The master liked to say that color is a feast for the eyes, a bringer of joy and pleasure.
