On Tuesday, November 29, the Faberge Museum hosted the long-awaited lecture by historian and TV presenter Lev Lurie "Talents and Fans", opening the series "Empire of Ballerinas. Russia at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries". The story about the fates of famous ballerinas – Kshesinskaya, Pavlova, Karsavina and many others - was filled with interesting facts recreating the atmosphere of that amazing time.

 

In which stores flowers were bought and where premieres and benefits were celebrated, what gifts from Faberge could surprise famous dancers and who was reputed to be the main ballet lover of St. Petersburg - an abundance of curious details turned stories about the ballet world into a fascinating narrative about the culture of everyday life of the St. Petersburg aristocracy at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries.
