Opulent Baroque, whimsical Rococo, Art Nouveau: these are all different facets of the «Fabergé style». In this lecture, we will discuss how the masters of Carl Fabergé's firm interpreted the European artistic heritage of the 18th century and how a new style — Art Nouveau — was created, gradually taking hold among the firm's jewellers in St. Petersburg and Moscow.

The history of the House of Fabergé is inextricably linked with the history of imperial Russia. The firm's works, created for imperial and private commissions, reflected landmark events and key figures of the Romanov dynasty. In this lecture, we will discuss the firm's works (imperial Easter eggs, diplomatic gifts, memorial objects) that captured Russia's past.
